We are all in the middle of a story and need a safe place to tell it and someone to sit with us as we tell that story and heal the broken places within it. It is a great honor to walk with clients as they grow and discover their strengths and watch as their passion and purpose for life return. I believe we are not meant to do life alone and especially when we enter the hard spaces in life we need another to lift us when we feel we cannot stand. It takes great courage and bravery to ask for help and I consider it a privilege to partner with you in your healing journey to freedom and being the best version of yourself you can be.
I help Individuals, couples and families of all ages dealing with issues including anxiety, depression, grief and loss, attachment issues, and relationship and parenting concerns. I am also trained in EMDR therapy and this technique can be used in addition to standard talk therapy or as a treatment by itself to treat trauma and many other issues and distressing symptoms. My approach to counseling is relational and client-centered.
"Our hearts are priceless, and affect every area of our lives. We must make a commitment to protect our hearts and not just throw them away looking for love in people and places where love cannot be found. Let us all respect and heal our own hearts."- Dawson McAllister

I was in a bad car accident in 2007. Three cars piled into the back of me. Some guy had a seizure in his leg and lost control of his leg muscles, pushing on the gas pedal uncontrollably. I remember the screaming I heard – it was mine. I had thought it was a terrorist attack. There was shock, emotional shaking, fear, anxiety, confusion and PTSD. I was told I had suffered a traumatic brain injury as well. Fast forward to 2018. I was noticing when in traffic, I always hang back at least two car lengths to make sure that “if I get hit again, my car won’t slam into the car in front of me.” What is wrong with this picture? I was still suffering from the trauma of that fateful day. So, with Dr. Nicci’s help, I went through EMDR. About two weeks later, I called her to say, “I think I am healed. I am stopping right behind the guy in front of me – almost on his bumper – like I used to! Ha. I think the EMDR has done too good a job!
I can't wait to meet you and hear your story. Contact me today to schedule a consultation.
